Winstones Icecream Factory

Demolition and remodeling of the old servery started in the winter of 2013 following approval of the new design. Consultation with the National Trust who own the adjacent land, ensured the design and setting was sympathetic to the surrounding conservation area.

The Trustees of Holy Apostles Church approached Town and City Builders mid 2013 with aspirations of developing a well known landmark in Charlton Kings. The aim was to develop the hall into a more flexible and user friendly facility for the wider community.

Dene Magna School

Dene Magna School was in need of a school library that reflected the needs of the increasing student intake. An under-utilised section of land within the school was developed using a large steel frame and curtain walling. The result was new library and learning space incorporating modern learning aids and flexible working spaces.

Town and City Builders had been contracted by Gloucestershire County Council to transform the schools reception area into a modern, welcoming space to reflect the ethos of the school.

Oakley Adult Opportunity Centre

Oakley Adult Opportunity Centre (AOC) provide day care for adults with learning disabilities. It is run as a needs led service and as such there was a requirement for additional relaxation spaces internally and the creation of a sensory garden through extensive landscaping.

Royal Agricultural University

The existing Garner Block is a key building within the RAUs grounds. The RAU facility team contacted Town and City directly to develop a scheme whereby an open learning space could be created bringing the lecture theatres and communal study areas to integrate further.

St Peter’s RC High School & Sixth Form Centre

St Peter’s High School and Sixth Form Centre in Gloucester is a highly regarded Catholic school formerly attended by both Directors of Town and City. The Design Technology, Reception and Administrative areas of the school were in need of modernisation and extending their lifespan by 20 years was a key objective.

Whitminster Endowed C of E Primary School

Whitminster Endowed Primary had two aging terrapin buildings providing classrooms for over 50 children. These were removed at the start of the contract and in its place two new classrooms were constructed using traditional methods and included communal entrance and cloakroom areas.

St Edwards School

The site of the existing caretaker’s bungalow was the proposed for a new school house to accommodate the Head Teacher of St Edwards School. The existing pre-fabricated structure was removed and a new modern home was constructed, designed by Gloucester architectural practice Quattro Design.

Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School

A successful funding bid enabled the School to completely refurbish the science department over the course of two summers. The newly refurbished department incorporated new staff areas; technician prep rooms; chemical stores and eight laboratories.
